This field course offers genuine insight into a career in conservation and a chance to protect, restore and study tropical rainforest through a packed course curriculum.
In summer 2027 you could be;
Orangutans, gibbons, rare reptiles, birds and insects in primary rainforest, unique peat-swamp and rivers.
You’ll actively protect and restore globally important ecosystems that reverse damage.

The course is led by two scientists, Dr Namrata B. Anirudh (Nam) and Jorian Hendriks. Supported by the highly experienced Borneo Nature Foundation field teams.
Nam is an ecologist, with over a decade of research experience in wildlife and landscape conservation, she loves turning science and data into real-world action.
Jorian is a conservationist scientist with over five years of research experience in primate behaviour, bioacoustics, monitoring and fundraising. He enjoys teaching and collaborative learning.

“Every moment where we were surprised by something. When I was in camp reading alone in the morning I heard a branch breaking, looked up and there was an orangutan. Spending the next hour or so with my field course just admiring that creature that decided to go to camp was amazing”.
