Reaching and teaching people around the world.

Children are the future; let’s make it a sustainable one. From interactive storytelling to youth conferences and after-school clubs, we engage young people of all ages and backgrounds, equipping them with knowledge, practical skills and motivation for them to become the next, needed leaders of positive environmental change.
Preserving cultures goes hand-in-hand with protecting forests. Borneo’s local communities already have a wealth of traditional knowledge, providing a valuable framework for our education projects. We draw on these cultural practices and values to reinforce conservation awareness; for example, by encouraging youth club members to express environmental concepts through traditional dance.

The state of Borneo’s rainforests has far-reaching implications for climate, commerce and our collective wellbeing—it concerns all of us. With local and international staff and partners, we regularly host events, talks and activities to connect with audiences in Indonesia and around the world, raising awareness of Borneo’s life-sustaining ecosystems.
We develop training and resources for education professionals, allowing teachers to introduce environmental concepts beyond the curriculum. We deliver our own teaching sessions too, and field trips for local and international schools too creating once in a lifetime opportunities centred around the natural world and how to protect it.

We create stories that can inspire and engage children and adults alike. We published The Little Gibbon Who Lost His Song, a book and storytelling app, used in schools globally in interactive sessions. Two further books continue to inspire around the island’s wildlife, the threats they face, and the need for conservation.

Weekly after-school clubs connect young people with nature they are part of. We combine education and entertainment through art, games and field trips kickstarting what we believe is a longstanding connection with nature on their doorstep.
